Pierre El Khoury , Manager – Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation
El Khoury holds currently the position of the Manager of the “Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation” (LCEC) hosted at the Ministry of Energy and Water and supported by the UNDP. His main duties include the management of the different aspects of the center including the set up of strategies and programs related to the development of energy efficiency and renewable energy markets in Lebanon.
El Khoury is also the Project Manager of the “Global Solar Water Heaters Market Project” funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through UNDP.El Khoury is the main author of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Lebanon (NEEAP) 2011-2015, adopted by the Government of Lebanon in November 2011, thus making Lebanon the first country in the Arab World to adopt such a plan. He also worked on the development of the National Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Action (NEEREA) with the Central Bank of Lebanon, the draft energy conservation law, and the net-metering application, among others.
He is the national representative of Lebanon in the Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE). He is also the national focal point of many regional and international initiatives, namely the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Mediterranean Solar Plan (MSP), the EU-funded MED-EMIP and MED-ENEC projects, as well as the UNEP En-Lighten Initiative.

Education:El Khoury holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master degree in Engineering Management, both from AUB. El Khoury is a member of the Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut.
